Aoife grew up watching films with her dad on Saturday mornings, lying in bed, completely pulled into stories she probably shouldn’t have been watching at that age. Films like The Godfather, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and The Sound of Music, with some of the great actors of our time, Clint Eastwood, Audrey Hepburn, Cary Grant, Sean Connery. These films stayed with her. Not just the stories, but the feeling of them. Her mum, on the other hand, brought something different. Where her dad loved cinema, her mum loved documentaries. Real people, real stories, told honestly. No performance, no exaggeration, just truth. It’s something Aoife and her mum still love to watch together, often sharing great documentaries back and forth. This deep-rooted love of Hollywood films and raw documentaries has truly shaped how she creates wedding films.

Emilly’s story adds a whole other layer to it. Growing up in Brazil, many of the same films were part of her world, but experienced very differently, dubbed in Portuguese. Throughout their relationship, Aoife and Emilly have gone back and watched those same films together in their original form. Seeing Emilly experience them again, as they were meant to be seen, is something really special. It reminds them how powerful film is, and more specifically, how authenticity is everything in filmmaking. Everything real. No dubbing, no perfection, no easy way out. Just true and honest. Now, she can’t listen to anything dubbed, and subtitles are a must.

But what really defines their work is the balance between them.

Aoife is an artist through and through. She has an instinct for taste that can’t be taught. She sees colour, texture, light, and detail in a way that is entirely her own. She knows what works, what feels right, and what will last. She’s the person everyone turns to when they need an eye, because she just gets it. Emilly brings something equally important. She is methodical, structured, and deeply process-driven. She thinks things through, pays attention to every detail, and with her engineering mindset, is always focused on achieving the best possible outcome. Nothing is rushed, nothing is overlooked.
